Patrick's English Academy

Patrick’s English Academy is a small, independent English school in Cork city, opened in 2017 by the Cork teacher Patrick McCarthy. It teaches in a Georgian building on South Terrace, five minutes on foot from the City Hall, and it keeps only six classrooms — the school says everybody there knows everybody.

Classes are small. Teachers hold a Cambridge or Trinity teaching qualification and work with each student on the mistakes that hold them back. Students come from more than 25 countries, and the full-time course is approved by the Irish government for the study visa.
