Active Language Learning is a family-run English language school in Dun Laoghaire, a coastal town on the south side of Dublin Bay, about twenty minutes by train from the city centre. It has taught international students since 1989 and works from a purpose-built building with fifteen classrooms over three floors, a student lounge and a rooftop terrace that looks out over the bay.
The school teaches General English in the morning or in the afternoon, fifteen hours a week, and runs an exam-preparation track for IELTS and for the Cambridge and LanguageCert certificates. It is accredited by ACELS, a service of Quality and Qualifications Ireland, and by Eaquals, and it is a founding member of ELE Ireland. Students from outside the European Union take the Work and Study programme: twenty-six weeks of class followed by eight weeks of holidays.
